Lorenzo Fasol is currently a PhD Student in Information Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Trento, Italy, with a grant funded by Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Italy. He received his BSc in Computer, Communication and Electronic Engineering and his MSc in Computer Science from the University of Trento, Italy.

He worked on developing optimization algorithms for cluster environments and integrating AI solutions into cybersecurity systems. His Master’s thesis, carried out at Fondazione Bruno Kessler in collaboration with Fincantieri, presented G-MAT, an unsupervised deep-learning framework that detects internal manipulation of a ship’s GPS data by checking the reported position against the vessel’s physical motion, and evaluated its robustness across different sea states.
